Nancy Reed Kanter, Secretary

Nancy Reed, singer/songwriter and former big band vocalist, came out of retirement when Atlantic Records released a big band album of her original songs, vocals and piano solos. Nancy was featured recently at Carnegie Hall and toured with The New York Pops and Skitch Henderson, and was invited to guest star on tour with the New York Pops, Virginia Pops and the Florida Philharmonic.

Prior to her marriage, Nancy attended Julliard as a piano major, and then joined several name bands including Hal McIntyre, Skitch Henderson and Benny Goodman; with whom she toured Europe and Scandinavia. She soloed on several bands recordings, and then on her own appeared at Ruban Blue and cabarets while a regular feature on network television (i.e., “Frank Sinatra Show”, “Songs for Sale”, “Garry Moore Show”, “US Navy Hour”, etc.).

Nancy was featured on “Miami Vice”, in cabarets and concerts nationwide. An ASCAP member, she has completed three all original albums, vocals, solos and arrangements.

She and her husband, Joseph H. Kanter, divide their time between Miami Beach and Los Angeles where he produced major films. Together they, and their family, are devoted to the Joseph H. Kanter Family Foundation.

The Kanters have two sons, two daughters, and five grandchildren.
